Conflict-free precious metals

Each product involving precious metal is designed and made by Eva Suba in her atelier and workshop in Hanau, Germany. Non-fairtrade pieces are made by using recycled precious metals sourced from other clients or the oldest German precious metal refiner and processor company, one the the first conflict-free gold refiners that is member of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC). This means that your jewellery:

  • is made of 100% conflict-free metals;
  • its precious metal is recycled;
  • no human rights are violated while sourcing and processing the material;
  • no child labor or exploitation involved while sourcing and processing the material;
  • discrimination or restriction of the right to expression of any kinds is not involved;
  • social responsibility and fair pay to all involved is implemented;
  • tolerance towards other cultures is nurtured;
  • the stress to the environment is kept as low as possible;
  • environmental and health protection laws are strictly adhered to.

Fairtrade gold

Eva Suba prefers to use Fairtrade or recycled gold.

For each product in the SHOP, you have the choice to select the option "Using Fairtrade Gold". By doing so, your jewellery will be made using fairtrade gold, sourced from an officially Fairtrade certified precious metal refiner and processor in Germany. Your choice of jewellery thus supports sustainable improvement of fairtrade gold digging cooperatives in Finland, Alaska, Argentina and Honduras and ensures the operation and the development of the fairtrade system.

Buying Fairtrade Gold makes a real difference to the lives of miners, their families and communities. Buying it means you know the small-scale and artisanal miners were paid a fair price, giving them financial security. They also receive an extra amount of money to invest in building the future of their families and their communities, through education, medical care or environmental projects.
